CREATIVE COACHING

COFFEE CONVERSATIONS

One of my favorite things in life is coffee conversations. Especially when we can talk shop about all things art, creative, photography, design, etc. I just feel like it's a place where walls and barriers can fall down and people can just talk about anything.

And I love doing that with new and aspiring photographers. They have so many questions and I somehow, thanks to the many years or trial and error and researching the crap out of everything, have a lot of the answers. Being able to help guide someone as they're figuring out the freelance creative life, it's so rewarding.

SOMEONE IN YOUR CORNER

To be honest, I didn't know what I was doing when I first started. I could point and shoot, but was clueless when it came to running a creative business. It is SO MUCH MORE than just taking photos. You have to know how to network, how to create a portfolio, how to deal with contracts and licensing and release forms. You also need to know how to conceptualize and produce a shoot or project from start to finish. And how to lead people and talk to clients.

I tried figuring it out on my own. And I turned to other commercial photographers who have been doing it a lot longer than me. I'm so thankful for their guidance and encouragement because it helped me so much.

And that's what I want to do for others, be in the corner to encourage others when things get tough and help them discover what they're doing great and fine tune it. I want to be in their corner, cheering them on.

ART INSPO

This applies to photography, illustration, graphic design, writing, painting, or cooking. Whenever you're making anything and presenting it to others to buy into, that's being an artist.

Because when you create, you create of yourself. And it's very intimate and personal when you share it. But it's also very practical in the way that you use it to pay bills. Believe me, it's a fine balance and I want to help you find that. In knowing your self-worth and value all the while keep you moving forward when this industry is hard to navigate.

Art is a collaborate thing. Let's do it together.
