5 Things Tuesday

Happy Ruby Tuesday.  Boom.  5 Things Jo.

1  NEW BOOKS TO READ - Between my sister’s awesome surprise in the mail and the gift card that I got from Leggars for B&N, I now have 3 new books to read.

I’m imagining business leadership sandwiched in between two books of hilarity.  That’s what’s going to happen.  First up:  Bossy Pants.  This cover still sort of creeps me out.

Now I just gotta break away from the computer in order to read.

2  PLANNING ON HITTING UP SOCAL SOON - So my cousin’s wedding in in LA next month so I’m going to be in the area for a bit.  Obviously I’ll be busy with family stuff for awhile, but I think I’m going to stay awhile and visit with friends.  Maybe check out the area.  Stay awhile …

If you’re in the LA area, let me know!  We can grab some coffee and catch up on life.

3  I WANT THIS - With my new Camera Gear, I’m realizing that I want a more discreet camera bag.  Something more girly.  And I found this:  a Kelly Moore bag (Mimi style).

Will you buy it for me?  Please and thank you.

4  SPEAKING OF CAMERAS - I’m still getting used to the new gear and all that comes with it.  I’ve been trying to push myself to take more pics outside of weddings and family functions, which sometimes I feel like I’m bothering people.  But I gotta grow somehow!

This past weekend I took some pics at my aunt’s Seattle loft (it’s has tons of natural light).  Plus she has all these amazing knick-knacks and just a beautiful home.  Although, she still doesn’t like me taking her pic.  Oh well … too bad!

Who else wants a random photo shoot?  I need some volunteer models :)

5  ONE TREE HILL STARTS THIS WEEK - I don’t know why but this show makes me cry like no ones business.  Like seriously, I can watch an episode and be sobbing later.  There’s just so many good story lines in it.  But there’s also really funny stuff in it too.  Like Julian’s high-fives, Quinn’s little bursts of hilarity, and that Holiday song.

Well, this week starts the very last season of One Tree Hill.  I’ve been watching the show completely out of order, but oh well.  I’m sold.  Maybe because they’re in the 20’s now and dealing with grown up issues.  Maybe because both later seasons Brooke makes me cry as much as early seasons Peyton.  Maybe because Chase is my favorite since he came from Laguna Beach.  Or is it because Haley was in one of Psalty’s videos?

Yes.  I’m excited.  Let’s bring on the final season.  Soak it in.  Then we can Netflix it from the beginning right after.

OMG IT’S SO INTENSE.  Check out this sneak peek:

CREATIVE INSPIRATION / Our Paper Shop.

I’m really excited about this new shop launch … from the most recent collaboration of some of my favorite bloggers:  Our Paper Shop.

They make such cute things!  And since my “write more handwritten cards” goal from 2011 was a big hit, I think I’ll have to buy some from here to keep that habit going.  I think my favorites so far are the house line set and the Big You stamp (the letter “J” of course!)

Which ones are your favorite?

5 Things Tuesday

1  NEW YEAR / NEW GOALS - Happy 2012!  How did you ring in the new year?  I spent it with 3 new cousins who FINALLY had their petition approved and are here from the Philippines.  After YEARS of red tape, they’re here.  And we showed them how party (watching NYC’s ball drop on TV).

2  BACK TO THE DAILY GRIND - It’s time to start running again!  Thanks to a good friend who randomly posted on Facebook about his fitness goal … a bunch of us are committing to get our butts into gear.  And we’re going to keep each other accountable.

This is what I need.  Get my game face on.  Get people to keep me in check.  Bring it.

3  MONEY OVERHAUL - I just did my overall financial analysis for 2011 and dude, I spend WAY too much money on dining out.  Like 3x as much as I do on clothes.  Something’s not right here!

New goals include getting this area of life in check.  Time to cook at home.  Right Jamie Oliver??

I figure, cook healthy meals, run again, buy more clothes!  It’s a win/win situation.  Fo realz.

4  FLORIDA FRIENDS & GOOD CONVERSATIONS - In the midst of all these holidays I had the opportunity to hang out with my Florida friends, Jesse and Tim.  One lives here now and the other is from here and home for the holidays.

I got to be one of the guys … rooftop beers, hanging out at Jesse’s place, and hitting up Capitol Hill.  Good conversations were had.  Talks about life, friends, and God.  I like those kinds of conversations.

5  HOLIDAY MENTAL HANGOVER - I don’t know about you guys but I just got emotionally beat up by the holidays.  It’s been nonstop since Christmas really and I haven’t had a chance to really catch up.

There’s been family event one after another:  New Years, baking parties, new cousins coming from the Philippines, grandmas’s 82nd birthday, homemade pot sticker extravaganza,  Florida friends.  TONS of fun.  But I’m tired!

Here’s a few sneak peeks:
