Checked out Launchpad LA today. Totally awesome place. Even more awesome - fully stocked PBR. Creative juice for entrepreneurs.
Hello friends. It’s 10:54 at night. And this is my first opportunity to sit down and write my 5 Things Post.
Anyways. Here goes it. 5 Things.
1 BEST MISSED CONNECTION EVER - I once found a Missed Connection post about a guy I swear was talking about my friend Theresa. Something about seeing her at Stardust reading a book and wanting to crawl in her gray shirt and have her hold him forever. It was really strange, but I thought it was hysterical. Especially since we were really at Stardust that Saturday and T was wearing a gray shirt and reading a book.
Anyways, this Missed Connection just may have beat that. Please click to read the actual post. (PS - a Publix is a grocery store. I really miss Publix.)
2 BUSY BUSY WEEK - I’ve only just got back to LA and my calendar is already packed with people to meet and hang out with. I’m going to a Creative LA Meetup, a concert with a college friend, grab some Yuengling with my FL buddies in North Hollywood - and hopefully end up at this craft fair.
I just love crafts. And well everything else stated above. Yes.
3 COFFEE SERVED UP BY A COUPLE CELEBRITIES - A few days ago was truly a day I wish I still lived in Seattle. I heard through Instagram that Will Farrell and Zack Galifinakis was going to actually serve coffee at a local coffee shop in downtown Seattle. And anyone can go and meet them. So crazy.
Anyways. I couldn’t go. My sister couldn’t go. But one of my favorite photographers did. And he definitely took these awesome shots (probably 1000x better than what I would catch on my mobile phone).
4 SPEAKING OF SEATTLE, ICHIRO WAS TRADED TO THE YANKEES - I really really debated on which picture to use here. I want to be true to the M’s (you know, SoDo with the Mojo). But this is the now. Ichiro Suzuki is a New York Yankee. Probably one of my least favorite teams of any type of sport.
I’m so torn. It’s just wrong. Ugh.
5 LAST BUT NOT LEAST, I JUST GOT BACK FROM LAKE GENEVA (SLASH CHICAGO) - I spent a week hanging out with my virtual office team, SEOperks, on our semi annual staff retreat.
I had such a great time meeting people in real life (they’re all really tall!), had a day out on the boat, hit up the big city, went to Second City, grabbed some Garrett’s Popcorn, and definitely had me some quality time galore with my old roommate, Christa (whom I like to call “Swedish” - don’t worry, she calls me “Asian”).
Anyways, great times! But I’m sooooo catching up on work right now. So much work to be done!
I recently found this single while browsing on Burberry Acoustic’s playlist. Even though I love the sound of live, unplugged music - I thought I’d go with the official video here. It’s western themed.
“Teenage Blood” is the title track of the British band’s 2nd album. Enjoy the track - it’s kind of an anti-folksy sound. But I like it.
It’s 10:34 on Tuesday night … I’m totally failing at this weekly post. It’s been a loooonnnngg day.
But it’s OK. I’m here. Let’s do this!
1 MY FIRST COMMERCIAL PHOTOGRAPHY GIG IS A WRAP - And they loved it! I woke up this morning with a newsletter from Wittlebee with my pic featured in it. It’s a really simple photo but it’s still my work out there. So yeah. Winning.
Can’t wait to get more jobs from this. Go Team!
2 APPLE BREAK DURING A RUSH ORDER - I had to get this order in super quick because it was rushed (they were featured on the Today Show!). So that was super sweet, but it didn’t leave much room for anything exciting to happen in my life this week.
Although I did get to go to a DJ event in the Apple Store with a bunch of my friends. The night consisted of rad music, some dancing, really random YouTube videos, and a “Happy Birthday” serenade to Rocky. It was a great break in the middle of my super work-filled weekend.
3 IN GOOD COMPANY - My roommates’ friends are in town and it’s a full house here at Chateau Jo/Andi/Kris. But it’s all good since the girls are fun. They’ve been out and about sight-seeing LA. And I’ve been stuck at home working. But it’s OK in the evenings because we’ve been watching movies. Including:
- “Up” - straight up bawled (AGAIN) within the first 15 minutes
- “Hot Rod” - quoted basically the whole thing
- “Bridesmaids” - so great, especially the second time around
- “21 Jump Street” - hellz yeah. let’s do this.
4 I REALLY LIKE THIS ALBUM - It’s basically been on repeat for quite some time. And I also bought a few new books. So I’m excited about that. I’m definitely going to get some reading done on the plane tomorrow.
5 EN ROUTE TO CHICAGO - Tomorrow I’m headed off to Chicago to attend my staff retreat with SEOperks! It’s kind of awesome to think that I’ll get to see my co-workers in person! For the past year, I’ve only seen these people (minus my boss Nate) in Google Chat. It’s real work we’re doing, just all from home. Across the country. So this is going to be a great weekend! Yeah!
Also - I’ll be able to hang out with my old roommate, Christa. Although I call her “Swedish” (she calls me “Asian”). Technically we called all our roommates by their ethnicity.
Anyways - yeah Chicago! Bring on the Garrett’s Popcorn!
I don’t know if I’m intrigued or weirded out by the fact that Radical Face and friends threw a medieval times food fight. So random.
(I hope you all said “mid-day-val” times like Ted Mosby)
You may have heard of Radical Face’s “Welcome Home” since it’s featured on a lot of ads and primarily on Skins.
I love that song.
Anyways. Random footage soundtracked by their newest single. Enjoy!
